Our front desk team and expert Physiotherapists are highly experienced and have been doing this for years, so they’re great at making you feeling comfortable straight away. If you haven’t completed it online before your visit, you will need to fill in a short form about your current issue. Once the Physio takes you into their office, they will ask you a few questions about your injury, your limitations, and especially your goals. The clinical examination will allow your Physio to give you a diagnosis and explain your injury to you. This is hugely important…understanding your injury is probably as important as the treatment plan. Your Physio will then build a treatment plan with you and will often get you started on some treatment straight away. This may include some hands on treatment such as massage, dry-needling, taping, or joint mobilisation, and often some exercises for you to complete as part of a home exercise program. This is shared with you via our online exercise app, complete with videos to ensure you’re confident in completing the exercise at home.
Your first session is usually about 45 minutes, as your Physio needs to understand your problem, get to a diagnosis, and develop a treatment plan with you. Follow-up sessions are about 30 minutes.
This will depend on your issue, accessibility, goals etc., and will form part of the treatment plan that your Physio will discuss with you at your first session.
We’re used to seeing patients in everything from gym gear to corporate attire, so come as you are! We’ve got clothing here to change into if you need it. If you have a running injury, it might be a good idea to bring your main running shoes with you, just in case your Physio wants to do some digital motion analysis on day 1.
No, you don’t need a doctor’s referral to see a Physiotherapist in Australia. Once our expert team have assessed you and developed a treatment plan, involving your General Practitioner or one of our expert Medical Specialist colleagues may be recommended to assist us with imaging requests, medications, or other helpful treatment strategies. This will all be discussed with you at your first appointment.
