Andrew Gooley

Andrew first developed a love for the physiotherapy profession whilst receiving treatment for countless sporting injuries over the years playing cricket, soccer and rugby. This first hand experience has meant Andrew has a strong passion for forming a close partnership with his clients, ensuring they achieve the best outcome for their presenting problems.

 In 2007 Andrew completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise and Sport Science) degree at The University of Sydney with Distinction.  Andrew’s results in this undergraduate program allowed him to gain entry to the Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney as one of the top 20 applicants by order of merit.  He then completed the Masters program with a distinction average in 2009.

Andrew initially worked within neurological and orthopaedic rehabilitation with a wide range of neurological degenerative conditions, spinal surgery,  orthopaedic surgery including joint reconstructive and replacement surgery.This broad range of experience provided Andrew with a solid foundation from which to develop his career.

This included shoulder, knee, ankle and hip orthopaedic surgery, spinal surgery, neurological rehabilitation focusing on Parkinson’s disease,  hydrotherapy, aged care rehabilitation and fracture care. 

Over the past number of years Andrew has been a dedicated and highly specialised musculoskeletal physiotherapist, working within private practice in Sydney.

Andrew has had a broad range of experience treating acute and chronic injuries, ranging from postural spinal conditions associated with office work, ACL and shoulder reconstructive surgery, acute and overuse sporting injuries, Rotator Cuff injuries and Tendonitis. Andrew’s extensive clinical experience has allowed him to develop advanced manual therapy skills, taping skills, clinical reasoning and specific exercise prescription, ensuring his clients receive highly individualised and dedicated focus in achieving their goals.

Additionally, Andrew has developed a keen interest in clinical Pilates and core stability. He has experience in teaching Pilates classes, he particularly enjoys providing clients with core stability exercises utilising pilates equipment. This ensures all clients achieve the best result, reaching their goals.

Andrew enjoys keeping fit and healthy enjoying bush and coastal walks, he is a keen soccer player and  has a longstanding love for skiing.
