Area of Expertise: Hip, Knee, Foot & Ankle, Pilates, Paediatrics
Felicity moved from the UK motivated by the expertise and reputation of Australian Physiotherapy, and to incorporate the positive outdoor lifestyle that Aussies do so well!
Felicity graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Physiotherapy from Oxford Brookes University. At University she was awarded a fully paid Scholarship to enable her to live and work in Hong Kong in a private practice Sports Clinic. Following graduation and a local job in Musculoskeletal Therapy, Felicity then moved to London and worked at several prestigious Teaching and Major Trauma Hospitals.
After completing her core rotations in the UK’s National Health Service, including Trauma and Orthopaedics, Neurology and Respiratory, Felicity went on to specialise in Neuro-Musculoskeletal Therapy, leading the Paediatric Outpatient Department and working under renowned Orthopaedic Consultants Matthew Barry and Manoj Ramachandran, Hip and Lower Limb Specialists.
Her time in London was most exciting when working at the London 2012 Olympics for the Medical Teams in the Aquatics Centre.
Felicity took some time-out from city life to work overseas in France for a Private Physiotherapy and Pilates Clinic based in the French Alps, treating ski racers, Instructors and locals, as well as getting out on the mountain at all opportunities! She has been back several times to work at several Cycling and Ski team events in the region.
Since being in Australia for the past 18 months, Felicity has worked at the Eastern Suburbs Private Hospital running their Hydrotherapy facilities and working in the outpatient department with Orthopaedic post-operative patients. Following this she worked in two Private Practice Clinics in the Eastern Suburbs and further south, one being within a gym environment utilising acute diagnostic skills, movement analysis and biomechanical assessments, as well as rehab of acute injuries.
Her other Clinic has involved more general practice, pregnancy, paediatrics, work-place related injuries, as well as weekend-warriors. Felicity has been teaching numerous Pilates classes, and is particularly keen on Equipment Pilates when performing rehab with patients aiming to become both pain free or back to a high sporting level. Her key interests lie in Hip and Lumbo-pelvic control, gluteal and core stability as an important factor in rehabbing Backs and any lower limb injury.
Felicity regularly utilises Dry Needling techniques, taping and soft tissue skills to regain pain free movement prior to strengthening and working on normal movement patterns.
Now retired from the Hockey field and Rowing Clubs of rainy England, when not at work, Felicity can be found swimming laps of Bondi Beach, on the Netball or Tennis court, or trying (and failing!) to Surf, and is soon to embark on her first Triathlon!
